Privacy Policy

1. Hosting and Online Shop Platform (Shopify)

This online shop is operated via the e-commerce platform Shopify. This service is provided by Shopify International Limited (Ireland) and its parent company Shopify Inc. (Canada).

When you visit the shop or place an order, your personal data is stored on Shopify's servers. Shopify processes this data on behalf of the data controller to technically enable the operation of the shop, the shopping cart function, and the ordering process. The transfer of data to Canada and the USA is legally secured by corresponding EU standard contractual clauses and Canada's adequate level of data protection.

2. What data we collect and process

2.1 When you visit our website (log files)

When you access the website, Shopify automatically stores technical data in so-called server log files. This includes the IP address of the device used, the date and time of access, the browser type, and the operating system used. This data is used exclusively for the stability and security of the online shop.

2.2 When placing an order in the online shop

To process a purchase, we collect the following mandatory data:

  • Master data: First name, last name

  • Contact data: Delivery and billing address, email address (for order confirmations), phone number

  • Order history: Which products were purchased at what price.

2.3 When using the contact form / email contact

When using the contact form provided on the website or when contacting us by email, the information provided (name, email address, and the text of the inquiry) is stored for processing and for follow-up questions. This data will not be passed on without consent.

3. Cookies and cookie consent

This website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files that are stored on the visitor's end device.

To comply with the requirements of the GDPR and the Swiss Data Protection Act (nDSG), a cookie consent banner is used. This controls which cookies may be loaded:

  • Necessary cookies (Essential): These cookies are absolutely necessary for the operation of the Shopify shop (e.g., to save products in the shopping cart or to maintain login status). They do not require consent.
  • Analytics and marketing cookies (Optional): These cookies allow statistical evaluation of user behavior. They are only activated if consent is actively given via the cookie banner (opt-in). Consent can be adjusted or revoked at any time via the cookie settings on the website.

4. Analytics Tools (Google Analytics)

If consent has been given via the cookie banner, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Ireland).

Google Analytics uses cookies that enable an analysis of the use of the online shop (e.g., which pages such as necklaces or earrings are visited particularly often). The collected data is anonymized: The IP address is truncated by Google within Europe, so that no direct reference to a person can be made.

5. Payment methods

To offer a secure payment process, the common payment services integrated into Shopify are used. During a payment, the payment data is transmitted directly, encrypted, and securely to the respective provider. SEYA Studio never has access to full credit card or account data.

We particularly use:

  • Shopify Payments: Processes payments via credit card (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay and Google Pay. Processing is done via Shopify in cooperation with Stripe.

  • TWINT: The Swiss payment service (TWINT AG, Zurich) processes payments approved via the TWINT app.

6. Social Media (Instagram)

This website integrates links to the social media network Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Ireland).

Clicking on the Instagram icon redirects to SEYA Studio's corresponding profile. If you are logged into your Instagram account at the same time, Meta can assign your visit to this website to your user account there. We have no influence on the scope of data processing by Meta.

7. Shipping Partners

For the delivery of the jewelry, the name and delivery address are passed on to the logistics partner:

  • Swiss Post (Die Schweizerische Post AG, Bern)

The shipping partner is obliged to use this data exclusively for the delivery of the package.

8. Storage Period

Personal data is only stored for as long as necessary to fulfill the contract or process an inquiry. Due to Swiss legal accounting and tax laws (Obligationenrecht OR), there is an obligation to retain purchase receipts, invoices, and contract data for at least 10 years.

9. Rights of data subjects (according to nDSG and GDPR)

According to the Swiss Data Protection Act (nDSG) and the European GDPR, data subjects have extensive rights regarding their data:

  • Information: You have the right to know whether and which personal data is stored.

  • Correction: Inaccurate or incomplete data can be corrected.

  • Deletion: You can request the deletion of your data, provided there is no legal (e.g., 10-year accounting) retention obligation to the contrary.

  • Restriction & Objection: You can object to the processing of your data under certain conditions.

  • Revocation: Consent once given (e.g., in the cookie banner or contact form) can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

10. Data Security

This website uses modern SSL or TLS encryption to protect the transmission of confidential content (such as orders or inquiries). An encrypted connection can be recognized by the fact that the browser's address bar changes from http:// to https:// and by the closed padlock symbol in the browser bar.

Responsible for the data processing carried out via this website is:
